Spring vegetable prices dropped in May
Supermarkets have lowered prices on popular spring vegetables in May, making them more affordable for shoppers. According to data from the Minfin portal, the price of yellow bell peppers has decreased by 14.9%, from 250.87 UAH in April to 213.50 UAH in May. This reduction makes this vegetable more accessible for a variety of dishes.
With the arrival of warm days, Ukrainians are increasingly heading outdoors to enjoy barbecues and fresh vegetable salads. Spring vegetables are traditionally very popular - not only are they delicious, but they also provide the body with essential vitamins after the winter period.
In addition, young cabbage has increased in price by 20%, from 85.76 UAH/kg to 66.07 UAH/kg, making it an attractive choice for spring salads. The prices for fresh cucumbers have also decreased - smooth cucumbers now cost 73.23 UAH/kg, while short-fruited ones are priced at 86.90 UAH/kg.
These price changes allow Ukrainians to enjoy fresh vegetables during spring feasts.
