Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk delivered a blow that damaged the eye of British opponent Tyson Fury during the match. Photos of Fury after the fight confirm this information.
After the match, Fury looked tired and depressed during the press conference.
Usyk defeated Fury and defended his world heavyweight champion titles according to all major associations. The fight lasted 12 rounds and ended with Usyk's victory by unanimous decision of the judges with a score of 116:112. Thus, the Ukrainian once again confirmed his status as world champion and defended the WBA, WBC, WBO, and IBO titles.
Usyk stated that he dedicated this victory to his mother, who always supports him, as well as to all mothers of Ukraine.
This fight was Usyk's seventh in the heavyweight division and his fourth successful title defense.
Fury again criticized the judges who awarded the victory to the Ukrainian by unanimous decision.
