The oil refinery in Tuapse, Russia, was attacked and the fire has been ongoing for over a day. Satellite images confirm the scale of the blaze. According to reports, the fire has not been extinguished since the strike. The governor of the Krasnodar region, Veniamin Kondratiev, reported that a gasoline storage tank caught fire due to the attack, and the area of the fire has exceeded one thousand square meters.
The Ukrainian authorities have not yet commented on this situation. However, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine had previously reported a series of strikes on this plant. According to military sources, the Tuapse factory processes up to 12 million tons of oil annually, a portion of which is exported.
Furthermore, on the night of March 15, the city of Volgograd was attacked by unknown drones. The refinery became the target of the attack, and a fire also broke out there. After the strikes, the fire spread to the area near the 'Sarepta' railway station. Videos of explosions and fires were posted online. Witnesses claim that grass caught fire due to debris from the drone.
