Biden discussed the transfer of power with Trump, and Macron – the war in Ukraine.


US President Joe Biden called his predecessor Donald Trump to congratulate him on his victory in the presidential elections and to discuss the process of transferring power.
On the same day, French President Emmanuel Macron held a phone conversation with the newly elected US president, which lasted 25 minutes.
During the conversation with Trump, Macron emphasized the importance of Europe's role and expressed a readiness for further cooperation following the Republican's inauguration. Special attention was focused on the issues of the war in Ukraine and the situation in the Middle East.
According to Le Figaro, both politicians expressed a "desire to work for the return of peace and stability" amid the current international crises.
Additionally, Kamala Harris also discussed the power transfer process with Trump after the elections.
