The Minister of Defence of Norway, Bjørn Arild Gram, announced that Ukraine will receive aid from Norway for the purchase of drones. Norway has allocated 700 million Norwegian kroner for this initiative, equivalent to about 61.3 million US dollars.
'Norway has recently allocated 700 million Norwegian kroner for a multinational initiative to purchase drones for Ukraine,' Gram said at a meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group (UDCG), as reported by Ukrinform.
In addition, during a bilateral meeting between the Minister of Defence of Norway and the Minister of Defence of Ukraine, Rustem Umerov, the issue of supplying drones was discussed. Norway, along with the United Kingdom and the International Fund for Ukraine (IFU), is participating in this initiative to supply drones.
'Ukraine continues to experience a critical need for additional military equipment to defend against Russian aggression. Drones are an integral part of these efforts, as they are necessary to protect critical infrastructure and to be used on the front line,' Gram noted.
