The European Commission outlined Ukraine's path to the Single Market.

European Commission: Ukrainian economy is gradually integrating into the EU
The spokesperson of the European Commission, Guillaume Mercier, reported on the gradual integration of the Ukrainian economy into the European Union's Single Market. Various forms may be used in the process of joining the EU, such as reforms or joint efforts. The main goal of integration is to deepen cooperation in the energy, transport, financial, and digital sectors. The number of sectors involved in this process may increase depending on the level of integration.
According to Mercier, the European Commission is actively working on economic integration through the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area. Concrete measures are planned for 2025-26 to support integration, including reducing roaming, implementing compliance standards, facilitating trade in industrial goods, and cooperation within SEPA. Special attention is being paid to the energy integration of Ukraine into the EU.
Mercier emphasized that energy is an important area of cooperation between Ukraine and the EU. The European Commission has proposed a support package for Ukraine that will allow the country to fully integrate into the EU electricity market by 2027.
Mercier also noted that the European Commission has a number of tools for developing cooperation with Ukraine, including the Ukrainian fund in the EU's multiannual budget for 2024-2027. However, the use of these tools requires further discussions with member states.
