CEO of Rheinmetall talks about production plans in post-war Ukraine.

The German concern Rheinmetall is ready to expand its weapons production to support Ukraine
The CEO of the German defense company Rheinmetall, Armin Papperger, stated that his company is ready to significantly expand the production of weapons and ammunition to support Ukraine. According to Papperger, Rheinmetall has already increased the production of artillery shells and plans further expansion.
The CEO also emphasizes the need for increased investments in defense in Europe and raising expenditures to 3% of GDP. This, according to Papperger, will significantly strengthen the country's defense capability.
Papperger notes that possible negotiations between the USA and Russia to end the war in Ukraine should strengthen Europe. He emphasizes that America calls on European countries to take care of their own security.
The CEO of Rheinmetall confirmed the company's plans to build three factories in Ukraine, regardless of whether the war ends. The first repair facility is already operational, the second is planned to start in 2026, and the third will be a plant for the production of anti-aircraft systems.
According to Papperger, production has not been affected by the war, as the factories are located outside the front line. He also emphasizes the company's active protection against cyberattacks and drones.
The CEO of Rheinmetall highlights the courage of Ukrainians and notes that he has seen them fighting for their country. Papperger admits that he has received threats from Russian officials, but this did not deter him.
Regarding arms supplies to Ukraine from Global South countries, Papperger admits that some countries refuse to issue the necessary licenses. However, Rheinmetall finds alternative ways thanks to its production facilities around the world.
Previously, Rheinmetall expressed readiness to defend its factory in Ukraine if Russia attacks.
