Ukraine plans to introduce new rules for drivers concerning the maximum age for driving a car. According to bill No. 8082, elderly drivers, starting from the age of 65, must undergo cognitive function checks annually. If they fail to pass the tests, they may be prohibited from driving a car.
This initiative is based on European Union legislation, where they have already begun to restrict the rights of elderly drivers. The proposal to conduct cognitive function tests after the age of 65 is intended to confirm the ability to drive a car safely. However, Ukrainian deputies have so far failed to reach a consensus on specific restrictions.
