The Tax Service of Ukraine has begun to impose fines on individuals who regularly sell goods online. Starting March 1, a new income monitoring system for citizens engaged in online trading was implemented. Within the first month of the system's operation, numerous citizens who receive payment for goods online but are not registered as entrepreneurs or using official cash registers (RRO/PRRO) have been identified. According to the Tax Service, within just 20 days of March, numerous citizens and taxpayers who regularly receive funds into their accounts were discovered. The tax authorities urge citizens to officially register their entrepreneurial activities, use registered cash registers when making transactions, and comply with tax legislation to avoid penalties and other negative consequences. It is worth noting that fines for unregistered entrepreneurial activity range from 17,000 to 34,000 UAH. A penalty of 100% of the sales amount is imposed for selling without using cash registers (RRO). It is also worth noting that tax audits and fines may also concern Ukrainians who sell their items through OLX, Shafa, and other platforms. This may draw the attention of the tax service even in cases where individuals are forced to sell used items to overcome financial difficulties. The implementation of the new monitoring system for citizens' income who sell goods online is considered a positive step in ensuring compliance with tax obligations and may have a positive effect on filling the state budget and providing equal conditions for all business entities.
