Dangerous Dictator: Americans Evaluate Trump's Actions - Survey.

The majority of Americans consider President Donald Trump a 'dangerous dictator' who poses a threat to U.S. democracy.
According to a survey conducted by the Public Religion Research Institute (PRRI) on the 100th day of Trump's presidency, only 40% of Americans rate his performance positively over the first 100 days in office. In particular, 56% of independent voters agree with the statement that Trump is a 'dangerous dictator whose power should be limited.'
The survey also showed that there is a significant divergence in political beliefs about Trump among different races. Most African Americans, Latin Americans, and Asian Americans agree with the characterization of Trump as a 'dangerous dictator.' Among white Americans, 45% of respondents share this opinion.
In the survey, several key political initiatives of Trump particularly concerned respondents. For example, the majority of Americans do not support placing illegal immigrants in internment camps guarded by the military, believe that Trump has overstepped his authority by mass-firing federal officials, are against closing or drastically cutting federal agencies, and do not support new tariffs on imported goods.
According to PRRI Executive Director Melissa Deckman, 'The majority of Americans see Trump in dictatorial terms, and I think most Americans are concerned that American democracy is under threat.'
Despite the criticism, Trump has strong support among Republicans. 83% of Republicans rate the president and his actions positively, and 81% of Republican voters believe that 'Trump is a strong leader who should be given the power necessary to make America great again.'
Trump dismissed the survey results, calling them 'fake' in his post on Truth Social. He also claims that organizations conducting such surveys should be 'investigated for election fraud.'
This study indicates growing frustration among Americans with Trump's policies on immigration and the economy, which were key issues during his election victory.
