PFU explains what determines the size of the future pension: three conditions.


Conditions for receiving a pension of 10 thousand hryvnias explained to Ukrainians
Many Ukrainians are interested in what pension they will receive after retiring and what salary is needed to get a pension at the level of 10 thousand hryvnias. The payment of a pension depends on the average salary in the country at the Time of retirement, the individual's salary coefficient, and the insurance record coefficient.
In order to receive a pension of 10 thousand hryvnias this year, a salary of about 27,094 hryvnias is needed.
The amount of pension at a minimum wage of 8,000 hryvnias depends on work experience. With the required insurance record, one can count on a pension of 3,370 hryvnias. However, if a citizen has not accumulated the necessary insurance record by the age of 65, their pension payments are reduced to 2,725 hryvnias.
According to the Pension Fund of Ukraine, as of the beginning of October 2024, there were 10.34 million pensioners in the country, and the average pension was 5,851 hryvnias.
There are significant differences in pension payments in different regions of Ukraine. The average pension in Kyiv is 7,971 hryvnias, in the Rivne region - 7,276 hryvnias, and in the Donetsk region - 7,158 hryvnias. The western regions of Ukraine have the lowest pension payments: in the Ternopil region - 4,460 hryvnias, in the Chernivtsi region - 4,664 hryvnias, and in the Transcarpathian region - 4,697 hryvnias.
