The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine approved Oleksii Chernyshov as Vice Prime Minister and Minister of National Unity. The decision was made in a plenary session with great support from members of parliament. 237 lawmakers voted for Chernyshov. The appointment process took place with the participation of Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, who introduced Chernyshov in the Verkhovna Rada. Before the vote, Chernyshov addressed the parliamentary corps and answered questions regarding the creation and functioning of the Ministry of National Unity. Many faction deputies actively participated in the discussion. Chernyshov previously headed the board of Naftogaz of Ukraine, so his appointment is an important step in public administration.
