Reuters: European leaders step back from the idea of sending troops to Ukraine.

European countries are changing their strategy to defend Ukraine against Russian aggression
Instead of a military operation, European countries are seeking other alternatives to protect Ukraine due to political and logistical constraints, as well as the unclear position of the United States, reports Reuters.
France and the United Kingdom will meet with delegations from many countries as part of a 'coalition of the willing'. Initially, they had been working on a plan to send troops to Donbas, but now they acknowledge that such a mission is unlikely.
'They are stepping back from the idea of ground troops and trying to rethink their approaches in favor of something more feasible,' said one European diplomat.
Ukraine insists on reliable security guarantees from the West to prevent a recurrence of Russian aggression. The President of France and the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom had proposed sending thousands of troops, but were unable to gain support from the United States.
Russia insists that NATO should not have a military presence in Ukraine. European countries are considering an alternative - increasing military presence in neighboring countries, such as Romania.
