Russia does not provide a green corridor for residents of the boarding school in Suja, which was previously shelled.

Ukraine reports interference from Russia in the evacuation of residents of the boarding school and villages in the Kursk region, which were shelled by aerial bombs. The situation is particularly complicated for people facing heating problems in their homes or who have been abandoned by relatives. These families number 120 individuals, including people with disabilities and the elderly.
Olexiy Dmytrashkivskyi, the press officer, stated that the relatives of these individuals had appealed to the Russian authorities to allow them to be transported first to Ukraine, and then to Russia through Belarus, but received refusals.
Dmytrashkivskyi believes that the Kremlin refuses evacuation because these people have realized that the Ukrainian military is not as they are depicted by Russian media.
The press officer also stated that residents of Suja and villages in the Kursk region cannot reach Russia. There is no existing 'green corridor' across the front line, and both sides must agree for transport through Belarus.
Throughout January, Ukrainian military forces began an offensive in the Kursk region. The Armed Forces of Ukraine attacked the villages of Berdyn and Velyke Soldatske. Press officer Andrii Kovalenko called these actions unexpected for the Russian Federation.
According to reports from Russian media, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have initiated an offensive in several directions, particularly in the northwest of Suja and northeast of the city, where fighting has already been ongoing.
The Russian Ministry of Defense described these actions by the Armed Forces of Ukraine as a 'counter-offensive' aimed at stopping the Russian advance in the Kursk region. They also claimed that Ukrainian troops used armored vehicles and tanks during the assault.
