According to the head of the communications department of the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Yuriy Ihnat, Russian military forces constantly change the routes of their drones and try to launch them at high altitudes, to then dive down onto the target. This allows them to be more visible to radars but unreachable for Ukraine's weapons.

“The tactic of the Russians now boils down to constantly changing the routes of UAVs and trying to launch them at high altitudes - over 2 km from the ground and then diving directly onto the target. At such heights, they become more visible to our radars, but unreachable for small arms, heavy machine guns, and mobile fire groups,” explained Ihnat.

In addition, Russian troops organize group drone raids on a single locality or object at the same Time, to make their attack more effective. They also launch decoy drones without munitions to confuse our air defense.

“On the one hand, they want to influence the mood and morale of Ukrainians, and on the other - to attack strategic facilities. For this, they are strengthening their production of drones and strike UAVs,” added Ihnat.

The change in tactics of Russian drones in the conflict zone shows that the Russian Federation does not stop searching for new ways of waging war. The use of drones at high altitudes and the launch of decoy drones creates new challenges for Ukrainian security forces and air defense systems. The situation is further complicated by the large number of drones that can be launched in one attack.
