Syrskyi Initiated Additional SBU Check Regarding the Chief of Staff of the Unmanned Systems Forces.

A check is being conducted on the Chief of Staff of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the AFU
The Commander-in-Chief of the AFU Syrskyi decided to carry out a special check by SBU bodies on Roman Hladkyi, who holds the position of Chief of Staff of the Unmanned Systems Forces command. During the check, Hladkyi is relieved of his duties.
The decision to carry out the check was made following a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Intelligence, and Defense, reports the General Staff of the AFU.
The Security Service of Ukraine stated that it did not conduct a check on Hladkyi before his appointment to the position. According to the legislation, such checks are not provided for this position.
"According to the current legislation, the Chief of Staff of the Unmanned Systems Forces command is appointed by an order of the Minister of Defense upon the recommendation of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This procedure does not require additional checks or approvals from the Security Service and is an internal decision of the Armed Forces leadership," said representatives of the department.
However, in 2020 the SBU conducted a check on Hladkyi regarding his access to state secrets, the results of which did not reveal any obstacles to granting access.
In particular, the judicial register contains information that Hladkyi filed a lawsuit against the SBU due to an order from the head of the department in the Odesa region to cancel his access to state secrets.
