The United States vetoed the UN Security Council's demand for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

The United States of America used its veto power on the United Nations Security Council resolution regarding the Gaza Strip. The resolution called for a ceasefire in the region, lifting restrictions on humanitarian aid, and safe distribution of it; however, the US refused to support it.
The US representative, Dorothy Shea, called the resolution 'unacceptable' and explained that the US would not support any decision that does not require the disarmament of Hamas and its withdrawal from Gaza.
The Israeli Foreign Minister, Gideon Sa'ar, expressed gratitude to President Trump for supporting the veto. The Russian representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya, noted that the US decision showed who truly seeks peace and who plays geopolitical games.
During the UN Security Council vote, the US used its veto power to not support the resolution regarding the Gaza Strip, which the international community had to observe with increasing anxiety for the people of Gaza.
