US Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense Daniel Shapiro stated that the USA plans to continue its presence in eastern Syria and will do everything possible to prevent the resurgence of 'Islamic State'. He also urged all parties in the conflict to protect civilians and adhere to international norms. Shapiro emphasized that chaos in Syria could create conditions for the activities of 'ISIS', and the USA intends to continue the fight against this organization, weaken its power, and bring back Ukrainians who have been forced to leave their homes due to the conflict.
The group 'Hayat Tahrir al-Sham', which led the rebels' offensive in western Syria and was previously an affiliate of 'Al-Qaeda', is recognized as a terrorist organization worldwide.
