It became known how many priests serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.


In the Armed Forces of Ukraine, more than 300 priests and theologians from 13 religious organizations are working. This was stated by the AFU.
«Currently, there are more than 300 priests and theologians from 13 different religious organizations in the army. They are always alongside their charges on the front, in the rear, or in the hospital, to share a prayer, perform religious rites, or just listen to a person who needs spiritual support. The Armed Forces of Ukraine expresses gratitude to its spiritual leaders for their dedication and service to God and Ukrainian soldiers», - the statement reads.
Chaplains' service in the AFU began in 2021, but in fact, it appeared at the beginning of the Russian aggression in Crimea and eastern Ukraine in 2014.
Today, October 12, Ukraine celebrates the Day of the Military Chaplain. This holiday is dedicated to Saint Martin the Merciful, Bishop of Tours, who is considered the founder and patron of the military clergy. Saint Martin the Merciful is considered the founder of military chaplaincy and the patron of military chaplains.
Military chaplains play an important role in Ukraine, helping soldiers maintain faith and morale in difficult situations. They are not only spiritual but also psychological support for fighters.
The National Bank issued a new commemorative coin with a denomination of 10 UAH in honor of the logistics specialists of the AFU.
Ukrainian military have left the city of Vuhledar, but this does not mean defeat, it is part of a strategy aimed at exhausting the Russian troops. More than 70% of wounded servicemen return to service after treatment.
