Ukrainian police assistants will be introduced in the city of Jihlava
In the Czech city of Jihlava, there are plans to involve Ukrainian police assistants to prevent crime and strengthen the trust of the Ukrainian diaspora towards law enforcement. According to the mayor Petr Ryšky, the city will allocate four positions for Roma assistants and two positions for Ukrainians. If there are suitable candidates, they may start working in spring. The mayor also indicated that similar assistants already exist in other cities of the Czech Republic, interacting with the Ukrainian community.
According to local authorities, about 7,000 Ukrainians live in Jihlava, among whom problems may arise. The mayor believes that Ukrainian police assistants will be able to establish a connection with the local diaspora and assist them. He does not pay attention to how long potential candidates have lived in the city, but emphasizes that their help and compliance with the highest standards are important to him.
Crime prevention assistants will work in cooperation with the police, ensuring public order and adherence to the law. They will have the opportunity to communicate with local residents and draw their attention to compliance with the rules.
