According to Ukrainian intelligence, North Korea sent 50 self-propelled artillery systems (SPAS) and 20 upgraded multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) to Russia. In particular, one of these SPAS is the 170-mm M-1989 Koksan, which had previously been spotted in Russia, and there are also speculations about the presence of the M-1991, an analogue of the Soviet 'Uragan' machine. North Korea stated that it has modernized these MLRS and equipped them with precision missiles, allowing them to fire both conventional shells and guided munitions. There is a suggestion that this weapon will be used by Russia in the Kursk region, where a 12,000-strong group of North Korean soldiers is located.
