In Vinnytsia, young artists – participants and winners of the contest 'Famous Vinnytsyans: from the past to the present' were awarded.


In Vinnytsia, art school students received awards for participating in the youth contest "Famous Vinnytsyans: from the past to the present." The contest was held on the occasion of the Artist's Day and aimed at national-patriotic education. Participants had to depict prominent personalities connected with Vinnytsia. The contest featured 37 works, all of which were evaluated by the jury. The best artists of the community were also awarded.
The organizers of the contest noted that its main task is to show that national heritage lives in the consciousness of Ukrainians. Those present at the ceremony honored the memory of those who paid a high price for independence and could create and engage in their favorite activities in modern Ukraine.
The Deputy Director of the Department of Culture of the Vinnytsia City Council, Hanna Kovalchuk, noted that the art contest for Vinnytsia Day has a long history and that this year it was decided to change the theme and focus on the outstanding people who contributed to the development of the city and the country as a whole. Artist's Day was also celebrated, and contest participants were awarded.
Each contestant's work reflected their vision of historical heritage and its impact on the present. Their works depicted Mykhailo Kotsiubynsky, Vasyl Stus, Mykola Sadovsky, Mykola Pyrohov, Natan Altman, Mykola Leontovych.
The ceremony recognized 33 contest participants. The best works received the following awards: 3rd place - Polina Kravets, 2nd place - Vladyslav Nikulshyn, 1st place - Yana Postemska, and the Grand Prix was awarded to Eleonora Fomenko.
Art school workers, who greatly contributed to the development of art, were also recognized. Awards were received by: Serhiy Bartko, Andriy Hnied, Svitlana Zhukova, Viktoria Lytvak, Iryna Prokopchuk, Oleksandr Nykytiuk.
The best works can be viewed at the exhibition, which will last until October 18 in the foyer of the Vinnytsia City Council.
