Ukrainian drivers advised to update licenses: what is the reason.

The Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs urges drivers who received their licenses before 2013 to update their documents. This was reported by the Deputy Head of the Electronic Services Implementation Department, Roman Batsyts, in an interview with "Ukrainian Radio".
According to Batsyts, the main issue is that owners of old licenses cannot access the full range of online services of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. This is because the vehicle data registry was introduced only in 2013 and does not contain complete information on all drivers in Ukraine.
Batsyts emphasized the importance of having a digital photograph in the database. If old licenses do not have a current image, citizens can obtain it from the Unified Demographic Register through the "Diia" application.
"In some cases, we can exchange the license even through "Diia", despite the fact that it was issued earlier," - explained Batsyts.
It is also reported that licenses issued before March 29, 2011, do not have a specified expiration date. Currently, driver's licenses are valid for 30 years, except for those issued for the first Time - their validity period is 2 years.
Reminder on how drivers are exempted from fines: in Ukraine, penalties are being widely canceled due to a single formality.
