May and Early June: From Cold to Warm
This May ended with quite warm weather, although for many regions it was one of the coldest in the last 10 years. However, anomalously heavy rains continue to occur in the west and north of Ukraine, setting new rainfall records.
Warm weather is forecasted for June in Ukraine, but by the end of the first week, a drop in temperature is expected due to the influence of a cold air mass from Scandinavia. Although temperatures will rise to summer values, from June 7 to June 10 we can expect a decrease of 5-7°C in most regions.
Weather Forecast:
- In the first decade of June, nighttime temperatures will range from +11 to +18°C, but after June 6, they will rise slightly.
- Daytime temperatures will be in the range of +22…+28°C, after June 5, even higher, reaching +29…+34°C.
- Frontal systems will most often pass through the west, north, and center of the country, where rain with thunderstorms and hail is possible. In the east and south, less precipitation is forecasted, which may lead to drought and increased fire danger.
This May turned out to be one of the coldest in the last 10 years, but June promises to start with warm weather, although there will be a few cold days at the end of the first week. Forecasts suggest a rise in temperature after June 5, but rain with thunderstorms is possible, especially in the western, northern, and central regions.
