Pension cuts and new service years: what awaits Ukrainian pensioners in June.

On May 16, the Cabinet of Ministers approved a new procedure for confirming work experience obtained abroad. Now, work abroad will be taken into account when providing pensions, even without agreements between states.
Key conditions:
- To account for service years, a certificate from a foreign state about official employment is required.
- Service years in former USSR republics before 1992 will be taken into account if a certificate of the absence of a pension in that country is provided.
- The Pension Fund can assist with requests to relevant countries.
This norm does not apply to those who are already retired, and such service years will not be taken into account when calculating pensions. This may complicate the process of confirming eligibility for counting external service years.

Also, on May 15, the Verkhovna Rada adopted a law limiting pension payments to individuals who committed crimes against national security.
