The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved the procedures for the mandatory declaration of prices for medicinal products and the creation of a National Price Catalog. Changes to the Law 'On Medicines' stipulate that manufacturers and importers will be required to declare prices for medicines, which will serve as the primary source of information for pricing. The price referencing system will be based on prices in reference countries of Europe. The declaration will include prices for prescription drugs, medicines from the National List of Essential Medicines, and other products not included in the National List. The process of forming the catalog will begin in spring and will be updated periodically. This will contribute to the normalization of prices for Ukrainian and foreign medications. The Ministry of Health, together with the State Expert Center for the list of original medicinal products, will start the price declaration process. Different deadlines for submissions will be set for various categories of medicines. The National Price Catalog will contain information about the maximum wholesale prices set by manufacturers and importers for medicinal products. Thus, the introduction of mandatory price declaration and the creation of the National Price Catalog will promote transparency and regulation of prices for medicinal products.
