In Ukraine, new payment rules for the military have been introduced: which family members will receive.

Law on the distribution of military service remuneration
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted a bill that gives Ukrainian servicemen greater control over the distribution of their financial support in the event of disappearance or captivity.
According to the new law, servicemen can now independently determine family members who will receive payments in the event of their disappearance or captivity. They can manage their funds and provide financial support to those they consider most in need.
In the absence of personal discretion, financial support is distributed between the spouse and parents in equal shares, but not more than 50% of the total amount after deductions. Siblings can also receive payments.
The law also specifies the procedure for regulating cases of a soldier's death or being declared dead by the court. If the financial support amounts are not paid, they become part of the inheritance.
It should be noted that this law does not apply to volunteers who surrendered, voluntarily left military units, or deserted from the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations.
Earlier, a committee of the Rada supported legislative changes regarding self-defense and desertion during martial law.
